ContuttoPDF: New version 0.3

A new version of the ContuttoPDF plugin is available. It contains some improvements on the PDF generation in the plugin code as well as in the default theme.

Changes for version 0.3

  • Compatibility check for webserver/PHP configuration, accessible via WP’s Plugins page
  • Fallback charset conversion with mb_convert_encoding() *
  • Cleaner plugin directory, DOMPDF moved into subdirectory
  • Import module for Microsoft TrueType Corefonts (obtainable via a separate package)
  • post and comment content are preformatted like screen output with WP’s wpautop()
  • Charset information meta tag added to default template *

* While I was working on a charset conversion with mb_convert_encoding(), I got a friendly e-mail from Jocelyn, who has found out that defining the the charset via a http-equiv makes DOMPDF display accented characters correctly with a UTF-8 charset. I think this is very good news for international users of the ContuttoPDF plugin, and it has been inserted into the default template. Many thanks to Jocelyn. The (now fallback) mb_convert_encoding() solution is nonetheless included, but deactivated by default.

    Guten Tag,

    ich hätte da mal eben eine kurze Frage. Gerade beim Validieren meiner Seite fiel mir auf, dass irgendwoher noch eine Session-ID an die URI des PDF-Buttons gehängt wird. Ich habe jetzt spontan mal alle mir möglich erscheinenden Dateien nach dem Querystring “PHPSESSID” durchsucht, finde aber nichts.
    Könntest du mir sagen, woher das plötzlich kommt? Geht nur darum, dass dort “&” statt “&” eingefügt wird und der Validator deshalb zickt.

    Hi Jocelyn,

    Sorry für die späte Antwort… hab viel zu tun momentan. :-)

    ContuttoPDF fügt ein & ein, was laut W3C völlig korrekt ist und sogar so sein muss. Das PHPSESSID kommt nicht von ContuttoPDF, sondern vermutlich von einem Plugin, das PHP-Sessions verwendet.

    ich habe nun endlich fast alles für ContuttoPDF auf dem Server installiert – eine Frage bleibt mir aber noch – welche “XML extension” braucht ContuttoPDF ?

    Es sind glaube ich die DOM-Funktionen, musst Du aber mal testen.

    Hallo Alex. Ich habe ein Problem mit eurem Plugin.
    Ich möchte mir eine Seite generieren lassen, die einen Shortcode enthält. Dieser kommt aus einem anderen Plugin (em-events). Leider gibt es mir nicht die auf der Website angezeigte Tabelle aus, sondern den Shortcode selbst.
    Wie kann ich das beheben? Danke schonmal!

    Das Plugin wird nicht mehr unterstützt, aber das sollte mit apply_filters im ContuttoPDF-Plugin gehen.
